NY
state needs you to watch for terrorist activities:
|
|
|
The
NY State Police Counter Terrorism group recently sent out a questionnaire
to all Grand View Beach residents. This
was designed to help build a database to thwart potential terrorist
activities.
Since
we are located on the border with Canada, NY State Police reminds us to be
vigilant for possible illegal entry into the US via our shoreline.
Report suspicious activity directly to the NY State Police toll
free at 1-866-SAFENYS (1-866-3697) or to the US Border Patrol at
1-800-331-0353

Algae
Update:
|
|
|
House passes algae study appropriation: On 5 June 2003,
the US House of Representatives passed bill HR 1856 authorizing continued
funding of algae study and mitigation programs. This could help to control
the troublesome algae problem we frequently have in Lake Ontario during
the summer months. The bill now goes to the Senate. Read about HR 1856 at http://thomas.loc.gov.
